Dr. Burgdorf’s care and attention do not end once you walk out the door. He provides extensive follow-up for each patient, answering questions and scheduling return visits to ensure the healing process is unfolding seamlessly. Mild swelling, bruising, and tenderness are to be expected after surgery. These side effects can be well-managed with prescription pain medications and a compression garment provided by the doctor. Total recovery time will vary from patient to patient based on the extent of the work performed but is usually around 1-2 weeks. Strenuous exercise and heavy lifting should be postponed for up to 6 weeks, or as advised by Dr. Burgdorf.
